Biography
Ni Fan (范妮) ist Künstlerische Leiterin und Chefdirigentin des Sichuan Symphony Orchestra sowie Professorin am China Conservatory of Music. Sie absolvierte ihr Konzertexamen im Fach Dirigieren an der Hochschule für Musik Saar und ist derzeit Visiting Scholar an der Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Darüber hinaus ist sie ständige Dirigentin des China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
Sie studierte Dirigieren bei dem renommierten Maestro Prof. Manuel Nawri und erhielt während ihrer Ausbildung große Anerkennung von führenden Persönlichkeiten der internationalen Musikszene, darunter Markus Frank (Generalmusikdirektor des Anhaltischen Theaters Dessau), der französische Dirigent Jean-Philippe Wurtz sowie Prof. Sian Edwards, Leiterin der Dirigierabteilung an der Royal Academy of Music in London.
Ni Fan hat mit zahlreichen renommierten Orchestern zusammengearbeitet, darunter das Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, die Sächsische Bläserphilharmonie, Ensemble Adapter Berlin, LUX:NM Berlin, Ensemble Ö! Zürich sowie führende Orchester in China wie das Beijing Symphony Orchestra, das Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra und das Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. Zwei Jahre in Folge wurde sie eingeladen, die Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau im Rahmen des renommierten Impuls Festivals zu dirigieren. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt auf zeitgenössischer Musik, deren Uraufführungen sie regelmäßig mit großem Erfolg leitet.
Im Jahr 2019 dirigierte sie drei Opernproduktionen in Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen Oper Berlin und der Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin und wurde dafür von Kritik und Publikum gleichermaßen gefeiert. Im selben Jahr war sie als musikalische Leiterin eines bedeutenden Festivals für Neue Musik tätig. Als Gastdozentin gab sie Meisterkurse an der Universität der Künste Berlin sowie an der Hochschule für Musik Saar. Zu ihren Auszeichnungen zählen der Montblanc Prix Montblanc für herausragende Nachwuchsmusiker sowie der deutsche Förderpreis Start-up! Music.
In den letzten Jahren war Ni Fan bei bedeutenden Festivals und in renommierten Konzerthäusern weltweit zu erleben, darunter das China International Music Festival, das Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, der Kissinger Sommer und das Budapest Spring Festival. Zudem trat sie in führenden Häusern wie der Berliner Philharmonie, dem Konzerthaus Berlin, der Deutschen Oper Berlin, der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg sowie dem Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia und dem National Centre for the Performing Arts in Peking auf.
Ni Fan (范妮) is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, and Professor at the China Conservatory of Music. She completed her Konzertexamen in Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Saar (Germany) and is currently a Visiting Scholar at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In addition, she serves as Permanent Conductor of the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
She studied conducting with the renowned maestro Prof. Manuel Nawri and, during her training, received high recognition from leading figures such as Markus Frank (Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Anhalt Theatre, Germany), French conductor Jean-Philippe Wurtz, and Prof. Sian Edwards, Head of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Ni Fan has collaborated with a wide range of distinguished orchestras, including the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Saxon Wind Philharmonic, Ensemble Adapter Berlin, LUX:NM Berlin, Ensemble Ö! Zürich, the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, China Film Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and many others across Europe and China. She was invited for two consecutive years to conduct the Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau at the renowned Impuls Festival. Particularly committed to contemporary music, she has led numerous world premieres, earning unanimous praise from composers.
In early 2019, she conducted three operas co-produced by Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, receiving wide critical acclaim. That same year, she served as Music Director of a major contemporary music festival. As a guest professor, she has given conducting masterclasses at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik Saar. Her distinctions include the Montblanc Prix Montblanc Award for Outstanding Young Musicians and Germany’s Start-up! Music Young Musician Award.
In recent years, Ni Fan has appeared at major festivals and leading venues worldwide, including the China International Music Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Kissinger Sommer, and Budapest Spring Festival, as well as the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (Valencia), and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, among many others.
Ni Fan（范妮），四川交响乐团艺术总监兼首席指挥，中国音乐学院教授。她是中国青年爱乐乐团常任指挥，华中科技大学访问学者，德国萨尔音乐学院指挥博士。范妮曾与亚美尼亚国家交响乐团、德国安哈尔特爱乐乐团、德国莱比锡交响管乐团、 Zaafran Ensemble Berlin、 Ensemble Adapter Berlin、LUX NM Berlin、Ensemble Ö Zürich、中央芭蕾舞团交响乐团、中国电影乐团、北京交响乐团、上海爱乐乐团、深圳交响乐团、天津交响乐团、浙江交响乐团、成都交响乐团、四川爱乐乐团、陕西交响乐团、吉林省交响乐团、兰州交响乐团、贵阳交响乐团、中国音乐学院交响乐团、北京民族乐团等合作演出。她作为音乐总监参与制作柏林新音乐盛典，并指挥过多部新作品世界首演，获得了作曲家们的一致赞赏。范妮作为客座教授，在德国柏林艺术大学（Universität der Künste Berlin）及萨尔布吕肯音乐学院（Hochschule für Musik Saar）举办指挥大师班。曾荣获 “Prix Montblanc”万宝龙杰出青年音乐家大奖；德国“Start-up! Music”青年音乐家大奖等。

Neben ihrer künstlerischen Tätigkeit engagiert sie sich intensiv im sozialen Bereich und dirigiert jährlich zahlreiche Benefizkonzerte in ganz Europa. Die Berliner Presse bezeichnete sie als „eine der vielversprechendsten und zukunftsweisendsten Musikerinnen ihrer Generation“.
Zu ihren jüngsten Highlights zählen die Leitung der Jubiläumsaufführungen zum 60. Jahrestag von The Red Detachment of Women mit dem Nationalballett von China sowie Produktionen von Schwanensee, Giselle, Die kleine Meerjungfrau und Cinderella. Im Februar 2025 dirigierte sie das FSMCV Symphony Orchestra im Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía mit Beethovens 9. Sinfonie sowie der Uraufführung von Royal Soldiers’ March mit großem Erfolg. Zudem war sie Jurymitglied beim Khachaturian International Conducting Competition und beim Llíria International Conducting Competition (Spanien).
Ende 2025 leitete sie die China-Tournee des Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. Für das Jahr 2026 sind Engagements unter anderem an der Kraków Opera (Polen), bei der Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgarien), dem Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra (Brasilien) sowie dem Boca del Río–Veracruz Symphony Orchestra (Mexiko) geplant.
Deeply committed to social engagement, she conducts numerous benefit concerts across Europe each year and has been described by the Berlin press as “one of the most promising and forward-looking musicians of her generation.”
Recent highlights include conducting the 60th Anniversary performances of The Red Detachment of Women with the National Ballet of China, as well as productions of Swan Lake, Giselle, The Little Mermaid, and Cinderella. In February 2025, she conducted the FSMCV Symphony Orchestra at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, leading Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 alongside the world premiere of Royal Soldiers’ March to great acclaim. She has also served as a jury member for the Khachaturian International Conducting Competition and the Llíria International Conducting Competition (Spain).
At the end of 2025, she led the China tour of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming engagements in 2026 include collaborations with the Kraków Opera (Poland), the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), the Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), and the Boca del Río–Veracruz Symphony Orchestra (Mexico).
范妮近年活跃于包括德国梅克伦堡音乐节、基辛根夏季音乐节、匈牙利布达佩斯“Tavaszi”音乐节，演出足迹遍布柏林爱乐音乐大厅、柏林音乐厅、德国国家歌剧院、德意志歌剧院、布伦瑞克歌剧院、汉堡音乐厅、中国国家大剧院、北京音乐厅、上海音乐厅、广州大剧院、江苏大剧院、珠海华发中演大剧院、深圳光明文化艺术中心、武汉琴台音乐厅等。她被柏林媒体称赞为“最有潜能和前途的音乐家”。近期，范妮成功执棒中央芭蕾舞团《红色娘子军》首演60周年纪念演出，原创芭蕾舞剧《红楼梦》世界首演，以及芭蕾舞剧《天鹅湖》《吉赛尔》《小美人鱼》《灰姑娘》等。2025年2月受邀执棒瓦伦西亚音乐协会联合会（FSMCV）交响乐团，在西班牙瓦伦西亚索菲亚王后艺术歌剧院（Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía）成功演出贝多芬《第九交响曲》及《皇家士兵进行曲》世界首演。担任哈恰图良国际指挥比赛、西班牙LLíRIA国际指挥比赛评审。2025年底成功执棒亚美尼亚国家交响乐团中国巡演。2026年将与波兰克拉科夫歌剧院、保加利亚索菲亚爱乐乐团、巴西Piracicaba交响乐团、墨西哥Boca del rio Veracruz交响乐团等合作演出。
